Extending HSE prequalification
To ensure our existing suppliers and contractors are committed to satisfying health, safety and environmental requirements, we organise periodic prequalification assessments.
HSE prequalification can be triggered in multiple ways:
- an automated email before a prequalification expires
- by the supplier seeking a change to work categories they are already prequalified for
- by our procurement people
- by our HSE people.
Please note that not all contractors and suppliers will require pre-qualification. Suppliers who provide materials or contractors who provide office-based services do not need pre-qualification.
Steps to update HSE prequalification
1. Review the below tier requirements for work categories you are providing

2. Prepare and upload your documents
Documents required to complete prequalification:

A document that provides information about your business, its origins and activities. If you do not have one, please use our Company profile template. |
| Health, safety, environment and Aboriginal heritage questionnaire | A Health, safety, environment and Aboriginal heritage questionnaire is used for work categories requiring HSE prequalification. |
| HSE Management Plan | Provide a company specific HSE management plan that meets the highest minimum tier for the work categories selected. For Tier 3 and 4 suppliers that do not have a HSE management plan, Comcare provides a Work Health and Safety (WHS) management plan template. If you are providing the Comcare WHS management plan, please read our HSE management plan requirements for additional criteria to the Comcare template. |

Make sure you allow yourself enough time to prepare your documents so we can review them ahead of work starting. Once you’ve prepared the documents we need, you’ll need to submit them in the supplier portal.

3. Get notified of the outcome
- We’ll review your submission and we’ll let you know if you meet our HSE criteria. If we need anything else from you, we’ll be in touch.
- Once your application has been assessed, we will notify you of the result.
